Ettorescola is an Italian film director and screenwriter. He was born on May 10, 1931 in Trevico, Avellino. He studied law at the University of Rome I, but never practiced it.
Profession
Scola began as a screenwriter in 1953. He made his directorial debut in the 1964 film Let’s Talk About Women. He found early success with the films We All Love Each Other and Dirty. Scola directed more than 40 films, including A Special Day (1977) and What Time Is It? (in 1989)’. He won a Golden Globe for his work on “Special Days.” His 1981 feature film The Passion of Love was adapted into an award-winning musical.

Ettore Scola passed away on January 19, 2016 at the age of 84. He died a few days after being admitted to the heart operating room of a hospital in Rome. He is married to Gigliola Fantoni. He has two daughters; Sylvia and Paula.
