Etika is an American YouTube user, video game critic and social media celebrity. He gained fame in YouTube broadcasts, streaming media broadcasts, and Nintendo game reviews. Etika disappeared on June 19, 2019 shortly after posting a suicide video on YouTube. On June 22, 2019, some of his personal belongings were found on the Manhattan Bridge in New York City, including his New York State driver’s license and mobile phone. On June 25, 2019, the New York Police Department revealed that an unidentified body was pulled from the East River. The body was later confirmed to belong to Etica.

Etika was born on May 12, 1990 in Brooklyn, New York, whose real name is Daniel Desmond Amofah (Daniel Desmond Amofah). He has multiple siblings, including a younger brother from New Jersey. His father Emmanuel Owuraku Amofah is a lawyer and politician from southern Ghana. Emmanuel served as a member of the board of directors of the Ghanaian Parliament (1992-96) and founded his own party “Every Ghanaian Living Everywhere Party” (now disbanded).

Etika launched his YouTube channel “ewnetwork” in July 2012. His first upload was titled “A rare Atari game found in storage sold for more than $33,000.” He mainly shares Nintendo game reviews and reactions (Nintendo Direct, Smash Bros, etc.). The channel also showed reactions to popular anime shows such as “One Punch Man” and “Attack on Giant”. Since its debut, Etika has gained more than 800,000 subscribers and more than 2 million views.
