Eric Bolling is an American television personality, political commentator, financial guru and author. He is best known for co-hosting Fox News Specialists, The Five and Cashin’ In. In August 2017, Bolling was accused by multiple sources of sending obscene text messages to colleagues at Fox News. He parted ways with the network in September 2017. Eric Thomas Bolling was born on March 2, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Loyola College in Wilmette, Illinois, followed by Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida. He graduated in 1984 with a BA in Economics. He was awarded a Duke University School of Public Policy Fellowship.

Before television, Bolling worked as an independent trader on the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX). He also hopes to become a baseball professional while attending Rollins College. He was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 22nd round of the 1984 MLB draft. He played in the Gulf Coast League until a rotator cuff injury ended his career. Bolling trades commodities (natural gas, crude oil, gold) on NYMEX. He served on NYMEX’s Board of Directors for 5 years before being appointed as a strategic advisor. Bolling was named “Maybach Person of the Year” by Trader Monthly in 2007. He also made the Trader Monthly Top 100 list in 2007 and 2008.
Bolling helped develop and was an original panelist on CNBC’s Fast Money. The financial stock trading talk show premiered in June 2006. Bolling left CNBC in 2007 to join Fox Business Network as a financial analyst. While at Fox, he hosted “Follow the Money,” “Happy Hour,” and “Strategy Room.” He co-hosted “America New Years” on Fox New in 2015 and 2016. Boleyn co-hosted “The Five” with Bob Becker. He currently co-hosts “The Fox News Specialist” with Eboni Williams and Katherine Timpf. He is also the host of Cashin’ In, a business analysis show on Fox Business Channel. The show was previously hosted by Cheryl Casone. In 2017, Bolling was accused by at least 14 sources of sending obscene text messages to Fox colleagues. He resigned in August 2017 amid the investigation. In September 2017, the two sides agreed to part ways.
In addition to television, Boleyn is also a successful writer. His first book, Awakening America, was published in 2016. It immediately became a New York Times bestseller. A second book, The Swamp: Corruption and Cronyism in Washington and How Trump Drained It, was published in 2017.
