Enzo Amore is an American professional wrestler and former member of WWE. He is 5-foot-11 and uses signature moves like “Diving Crossbody”, “Dropkick” and finishing move “Splash”. Amore was born Eric Anthony Arndt on December 8, 1986 in Hackensack, New Jersey. He grew up in Wardwick and attended Wardwick High School. He continued his education at Salisbury University with a degree in journalism. Amore is also a competitive football player. From 2007 to 2009, he served as a linebacker for the Seagulls.
Profession
Amore worked as a DJ for the New York Jets and worked as a professional piano porter before wrestling. He started training under Joe DeFranco in 2002, and by 2012 he was signed to NXT, the WWE development system. Amore briefly used the ring name “Eric Anthony” before adopting “Enzo Amore”. In May 2013, he lost his first game to Mason Ryan. He then formed a two-man team with wrestler Colin Cassady. The pair used various names such as “The Realest Guy in the Room” and “Enzo & Big Cass.”
Amore was sidelined for seven months after suffering a broken leg in November 2013. After his return in 2014, he and teammate Cassady competed in the NXT Tag Team Championship, followed by NXT TakeOver: Fatal 4-Way. The pair made their debut in the April 2016 episode of Raw. Since then, they have beaten “Dudley Boys” and “Ascension”. Amore was seriously injured at the WWE Pay-Per View event in May 2016, which left him motionless on the floor. He was reportedly diagnosed with a concussion and has since been discharged from a local medical facility. He was released from WWE in January 2018 following allegations of sexual assault.
