Enrique Aboitiz became a billionaire as CEO and President of Aboitiz Transportation Systems Corporation (ATSC), the transportation services arm of the Aboitiz Group from which most of the family’s wealth came from.
ATSC transports people and cargo throughout the Philippine Islands. The company provides maritime passenger services to 20 major ports in the Philippines through its SuperFerry business. Its 2GO division provides integrated logistics services, arranging the transportation of goods throughout the Philippines by air, land and sea, including its own vessels. The company also provides ship management and manpower (crew) services to other ship operators. Founded in 1949, ATCS is part of the Aboitiz Group, which has interests in banking, electricity, food and other industries. Today, more than 98% of ATSC is owned by Negros Navigation (NENACO), one of the oldest domestic shipping companies in the Philippines. It is also one of the largest companies in the Philippine passenger transport business. Enrique Aboitiz holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (with a concentration in Economics) from Gonzaga University.
