Eminem is an American rapper, film actor and songwriter. He was born on October 17, 1972 in St. Joseph, Missouri, and his original name was Marshall Bruce Mathers III. His parents are Marshall and Deborah Mathers. He has three brothers and sisters, Michael, Sarah and Nathan. When Eminem was 11 years old, he moved with his mother to Warren, Michigan. He attended Lincoln High School, but dropped out at the age of 17.

Eminem started rap in high school. His first album Infinite was released by Web Entertainment in November 1996. His second album The Slim Shady LP was released in 1999. The production staff include Eminem, Dr. Dre and Brass Brothers. The album ranked 54th on the Billboard 200 chart and included the singles “Just Don’t”, “Give a F*k” and “My Name Is”. It received multi-platinum certification, and Eminem won his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album.
Eminem’s recent works include Relapse (2009), Recovery (2010) and The Marshall Matters LP 2 (2013). He played Jimmy “B-Rabbit” Smith Jr. in the 2002 hip-hop film 8 Mile, and won an Oscar for it. Controversial or not, Eminem is one of the best-selling artists of the 21st century. He has won many awards, including 15 Grammy Awards, 14 AMA and Oscars.
