Eddie Murphy is an American comedian, actor, singer and director. His film works include 48 Hours, Trading Place, Beverly Hills Police, Madman Professor, and Coming to the United States. Murphy was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 3, 1961, whose real name is Edward Reagan Murphy. His parents are Lillian and Charles. His brother Charlie Murphy died of leukemia in April 2017. Murphy attended Roosevelt High School, followed by Nassau Community College. He left the university before finishing his degree.

Murphy started writing and performing her own routines at the age of 15. His early works were influenced by the likes of Bill Cosby and Richard Pryor. From 1980 to 1984, Murphy served as a regular actor on NBC Saturday Night Live. His same-listed comedy special was released in 1982, followed by “Crazy” in 1983. Murphy’s feature film debut was an action comedy in 1982, 48 hours. The film is directed by Walter Hill and co-starred with Nick Knott. 48 hours of success. Murphy continues to play the protagonist in the Beverly Hills Police series, Trading Place, and Professor Nuts. He dubbed the character “Donkey” in the Shrek film series. His directorial debut was Harlem Night (1989).
