Ed Skrein is a British actor, rapper and former swimming coach. He is best known for the films Transporter: Come On (2015), Deadpool (2016) and the Game of Thrones series. His recordings include the album The Eat Up (2007) and the collaborative EP Pre-Emptive Nostalgia (2007). Skrein was born Edward George Skrein on 29 March 1983 in Camden, London. Little is known about his parents/siblings. He graduated from Central Saint Martins with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.

Skrein started his rap career under the stage name Dinnerlady PIMP. His first EP, Mind Out/Once Upon a Skrein, was released by Dented Records in 2004. It has 3 tracks, “Mind Out”, “Once Upon a Skrein” and “The Youth”. Three years later, his debut album The Eat Up was released by Dented. It features guest artists such as Plan B, Dubbledge, Doc Brown, and Foreign Beggars. Tracks on the album include “Where It All Started”, “Skrizzle” and “Raise Ya Glasses”. Skrein collaborated with the band A State of Mind on their 2007 EP, Pre-Emptive Nostalgia.

Skrein first starred as Edward “Ed” Richardson in the crime drama “Sick Manor” (2012). The film was directed by his friend Ben Drew (Plan B). His next film was the action drama The Barber (2012) starring Ray Winston. In 2013, Skrein made a cameo appearance as “Daario Naharis” in three episodes of Game of Thrones. He starred in “Frank Martin Jr.” In Transporter: Refueling (2015). He played “Francis Freeman/Ajax” in Deadpool (2016) alongside Ryan Reynolds. Other films include Tiger House (2015) with Kaya Scodelario, and Kill Your Friends (2015) with Nicholas Hoult. Skrein was the original choice for the character “Ben Daimio” in the upcoming film Hellboy (2018). In whitewashing the criticism, he resigned from the role.
