Dulce, a physician at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro who also holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, helped Edison a lot, and the organization started with several medical clinics. Since 2007, her ex-husband has acquired about 15 companies until Amil grew into the largest healthcare organization in Latin America.
