Dua Lipa was born on August 22, 1995 in London, England. Her parents moved from Pristina (now Kosovo) in Yugoslavia a few years before she was born. Her father, Dukagjin Lipa, is the marketing manager and lead singer of the Kosovar rock band Oda. Her mother, Anesa Lipa, works in the tourism industry. Dua attended the Sylvia Young Drama School part-time before the family moved back to Kosovo in 2006, where her father found work. Lipa attended the Third Millennium School in Pristina, where she became a fan of hip-hop artists who influenced her musical style.
