Doris Burke is an American sports reporter and color analyst. She is best known for her NBA basketball coverage on ESPN and her work with the New York Knicks. Burke was born Doris Sable on November 23, 1965, in West Islip, New York. She grew up in Manasquan, New Jersey, and attended Manasquan High School. Burke continued his education at Providence College in Providence, Rhode Island. She earned an undergraduate degree in health services administration/social work, followed by a master’s degree in education.

Burke led the Big East in assists and was named Female Athlete of the Year as a senior. After graduation, Burke served as the team’s assistant coach from 1988 to 1990.
