Donna McKechnie Net Worth: Donna McKechnie is an American actress who has a net worth of $250,000. Donna McKechnie was born in Pontiac, Michigan in 1942 and was a ballerina before her sixth birthday. She moved to New York City before turning 18, but was rejected by the American Ballet Theatre.
Before joining the Carousel Theater in Massachusetts, she worked at Radio City Music Hall. McKechnie’s first foray into screen acting was in TV commercials. She went on to have roles on “West Side Story” before making her Broadway debut in 1961’s “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” McKechnie landed a number of other stage roles before appearing as a dancer on NBC’s “Hullabaloo.” From 1969 to 1970, she starred in the soap opera Shadow, playing Amanda Harris and Olivia Corey. She returned to Broadway shortly after, winning the 1976 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical for “Chorus.” She also won the Drama World Special Award and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Musical for the role. In the ’80s, she starred in “Annie Get Your Gun,” “Can-Can,” and “Sweet Charity,” among others, and began choreographing for the Los Angeles Raiderettes after being diagnosed with arthritis. Despite health issues, McCechney continued to perform, appearing off-Broadway in “Annie Warbucks,” “You’ll Never Know,” “Cut the Ribbon” and “Showtune.”
