Donald Trump is an American businessman, investor, television personality and the 45th President of the United States. He was born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York. Trump attended the New York Military Academy at the age of 13. Upon completion, he attended Fordham University but later transferred to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Trump initially worked at his father’s real estate firm, Elizabeth Trump & Son. In 1971, he took control of the company and renamed it the “Trump Organization.” He remodeled and modernized the Commodore Hotel and renamed it the Grand Hyatt in 1980. He acquired the “Taj Mahal Casino” in 1988 and completed the 72-story “Trump World Tower” in 2001.
Trump became the executive producer and host of the NBC reality show The Apprentice in 2003. He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2007. NBC ended its business relationship with Trump after Trump’s 2015 campaign announcement speech on immigration.
Trump officially announced his candidacy for President of the United States on June 16, 2015. His campaign slogan was: “Make America Great Again.” He chose Mike Pence, the 50th governor of Indiana, as his vice presidential candidate.
