Don Lemon is an Emmy-winning American journalist, TV personality and writer. He currently hosts CNN Tonight from 10pm to midnight every weekday. He also serves as a news anchor for CNN in New York City. Lemon’s screen works include Zoolander 2 (2016), Into the Storm and Black-ish. His memoir “Transparency” was published in 2011. Tang Lemon was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on March 1, 1966, to Catherine Clarke. He has an older sister named Yma. Another sister Lysa died of accidental drowning in January 2018. Lemon attended Baker High School and then Brooklyn College. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting journalism in 1996. He also takes classes at Louisiana State University.

While still in college, Lemon worked as a news assistant at WNYW in New York City. He has served as a weekend anchor at WBRC (Birmingham), WCAU (Philadelphia) and KTVI (St. Louis). After returning to New York, Lemon worked as a reporter for NBC News, NBC Evening News, and The Today Show. In addition to reporting duties, Lemon also serves as an anchor on MSNBC and Weekend Today. From 2003 to 2005, he served as the co-anchor/reporter of NBC5 News.

Lemon joined CNN in September 2006. He reported from Chicago, reporting the story before the 2008 presidential election. He interviewed many famous people such as Rahm Emanuel of Chicago. Lemon reported on the 2015 Charleston Church shooting, the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting, and the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. He also reported several other stories, including the death of Freddie Gray, the death of Whitney Houston, and the inauguration of the 44th president in Washington. Lemon guest stars in the Black-ish, Empire and The Jim Gaffigan Show series. He has a cameo in the comedy Zoolander 2 (2016) starring Ben Stiller. Lemon is currently the news anchor of CNN in New York City. He hosts the news/public opinion program “CNN Tonight” at 10pm every Sunday.

In 2009, Lemon was named one of the most influential blacks in America by Ebony magazine. He won an Emmy Award for his coverage of the Chicago real estate market. He has also received many other honors, including the Edward R. Murrow Award. Lemon’s first book “Transparency” was published by Farrah Gray Publishing in May 2011.
