Dietmar Hopp Net Worth: Dietmar Hopp is a German entrepreneur with a net worth of $7.1 billion. Dieter Malhope was born on April 26, 1940 in Heidelberg, Germany. He joined the list of the world’s richest people as co-founder, co-chairman and co-CEO of the German software company SAP AG. Since he became one of SAP’s founders in 1972 (along with fellow former IBM colleagues Hans Werner Hector, Klaus Tschira, Claus Wellenreuther, and Hasso Plattner), Hopp has helped the company grow into the giant it is today.
He was Co-CEO of SAP from 1988 to 1998 and then Chairman of the Supervisory Board until 2003. It wasn’t until 2005 that he officially retired from the SAP board, holding about 10 percent of the company.
