Born in Albany, Georgia, in 1979, Deion Branch played wide receiver for the University of Louisville Cardinals and earned first-team All-American honors in 2000 and 2001. The New England Patriots selected Branch with the 65th overall pick in the second round of the 2002 NFL Draft; he continued to play for New England until he was traded to Seattle in 2006 after a lengthy, controversial public boycott Seahawks.
Blanche played in Seattle until 2010, when he returned to the Patriots through a second trade, until 2012. The club eventually dropped him.
