Dick Cavett is a former American TV talk show host with a net worth of US$60 million. From the 1960s to the 2000s, Dick Cavett gained fame for appearing frequently on TV talk shows on national radio.
Cavite was born in Nebraska on November 19, 1936, to Erabel “Time” Richards and Alva B. Cavite, both of whom are educators. Cavite married Caroline Nye McGeoy in 1964 until her death on July 14, 2006. He married writer Martha Rogers in 2010. Cavett attended Yale University, where he performed and directed plays on campus. During his senior year at Yale, his major changed from English to drama. He often takes advantage of all possible opportunities to see celebrities, even pretending to be members of the media hanging out in the background. Cavite did many odd jobs while pursuing his career, such as a store detective, a label typist for a Wall Street company, and a photocopier.

About 50 years ago, Dick bought about 100 acres of land in Montauk, Long Island. In 2008, he sold 77 acres of land to the U.S. government for $18 million. That land is now a nature reserve. The remaining approximately 20 acres of land were listed for sale at a price of US$65 million in June 2017. The property has a house that was completely burnt down in 1997. The house was almost completely rebuilt to its previous specifications. The house is 7000 square feet.
