Demetrius Shipp Jr. is an American actor and music producer. He is best known for his role as the rapper “Tupac Shakur” in the biopic All Eyez on Me (2017). His acting credits also include the TV movie #unlock’d. Demetrius Shipp Jr. was born on November 20, 1988 in Carson, California. His father, Demetrius Sr., is a producer for Death Row Records. He collaborated with 2Pac on the song “Toss It Up” from the album The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory (1996).

Shipp worked on “Target” and “Dish Network” before acting. His feature film debut was the biographical drama All Eyez on Me (2017). He was cast as the West Coast rapper/actor “Tupac Amaru Shakur”. There are strong similarities between the two sides. The film is directed by Benny Boone and produced by David Robinson, LT Hutton and James G. Robinson. Supporting roles include Kat Graham as “Jada Pinkett”, Danai Gurira as “Afeni Shakur” and Jamal Woolard as “The Notorious BIG”. All Eyez on Me is written by Jeremy Haft, Eddie Gonzalez and Steven Bagatourian. It is named after 2Pac’s fourth album. It was released on June 16, 2017, which will be 2Pac’s 46th birthday.

Shipp played “Marcus” in the TV movie #unlock’d. He has guest appearances on TV shows including Dish Nation, The Wendy Williams Show and The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. In addition to movies, Shipp is also a music producer. He currently works with his father at their record label.
