Reynolds was born Mary Francis Reynolds on April 1, 1932 in El Paso, Texas. Her parents are Maxine and Raymond. Reynolds is a member of the Girl Scouts. After the family moved to Burbank, California in 1939, she attended Burbank High School. She signed a contract with Warner Bros. shortly after winning the Miss Burbank pageant.

She died a few hours later. She is survived by her son Todd Fisher and her granddaughter Billy Lord. Reynolds’ death came a day after the death of her daughter, Carrie Fisher. Fisher died of a heart attack on December 27, 2016.
