David Hogg is an American activist, gun control advocate, and video blogger. He survived the fatal shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, 2018. He is also a founding member of Never Again MSD, a student-led gun control organization. Since the incident, he has been the subject of numerous conspiracy theories. David Miles Hogg was born on April 12, 2000 in Los Angeles, California. His father Kevin Hogg is a former FBI agent and his mother Rebecca Boldrick is a teacher. He has a younger sister named Lauren. Hogg lives in Parkland, Florida, where he attended Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School. He worked as a Teenlink reporter for Sun-Sentinel newspaper.

Hogg is a fourth-year student at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He takes a TV production course and will graduate in spring 2018. Famous alumni of the school include Jordan Pundik (musician), Anthony Rizzo (MLB player), Cassie Scerbo (actress) and Nicholas Thompson (golf player). The fatal Stoneman Douglas High School shooting took place on Valentine’s Day on February 14, 2018. A total of 17 people were killed and many others were injured. The gunman, Nikolas Cruz, a former student, was arrested. During the incident, Hogg and several other students tried to leave the building. A school janitor instructed them to return to the classroom. They ended up hiding in the closet of the classroom. Hogg uses his cell phone to record and interview his peers in case they go out alive. His sister Lauren was also on campus when the shooting happened. The two communicated via text messages. The whole ordeal ended when they were escorted by special police officers.

After the shooting, Hogg became an activist and gun control advocate. He has been an outstanding leader of gun violence protests in the United States in 2018. He is one of the founding members of the student-led gun control advocacy organization “Never Again MSD”. The group was formed on February 15, 2018, one day after the shooting. Other members include Alfonso Calderon, Sarah Chadwick, Jaclyn Colin, Emma Gonzalez and Cameron Kaski. After that, they called on legislators and the National Rifle Association (NRA) to make changes. The organization helped organize the “March for Our Life” event. Hogg has appeared on TV shows such as “The Dr. Phil Show”, “Bill Maher Live Report” and “60 Minutes”. He appeared on the cover of the April 2018 edition of Time magazine. Hogg’s position has also led to some conspiracy theories. He is called a crisis actor by some theorists.
