Gilliland has been involved in motorsports since childhood before making his NASCAR National Series debut at the Bashas’ Supermarkets 2000 in Phoenix in 2005.
He has competed in more than 50 races in the series over the past six years and scored his first and only win so far at the 2006 Meijer 300 in Kentucky. He made the top ten three times. Gilliland also competes in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, competing in nearly 300 races over the past nine years. He made his debut on the 2006 Sonoma Dodge/Save Mart 350 and has yet to win a race in the series, despite his eight top 10 finishes. Gilliland finished 26th in the 2013 Sprint Cup Series. He drives car number 38 for Front Row Motorsports. Gilliland also made three appearances in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series, most recently at the WinStar World Casino 350K in Texas in 2009.
