David Dreyer Net Worth: David Dreier is an American Republican politician and entrepreneur with a net worth of $7 million. David Dreyer was born on July 5, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri. He is best known as a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives (1981-2013) and Chairman of the Rules Committee.
Dreier attended Principia High School in St. Louis, Missouri, and received his bachelor’s degree in 1975 from Claremont Boys’ College in Claremont, California. He received his master’s degree from Claremont Graduate School in 1976. He was also Director of Corporate Relations at Claremont McKenna College (1975-1979). He was a delegate to the California Republican Convention (1978-1980) and the Republican National Convention (1976-1980). In 1980, after the 1980 Census, his school district was renumbered as 33rd, and he defeated Congressional Lynn Grism in 1982 at the Republican Fair. He won the 2004 ballot at least every two years until his 2004 re-election campaign. During the 2004 election, Dreyer’s opponent, Cynthia Matthews, was strongly critical of his stance on illegal immigration. In 2006, he won a re-election against Matthews. Following the 2010 U.S. Census, the voter-created California Citizens Redistricting Commission included Dreier and longtime Republican Congressman Jerry Lewis in the newly drawn 31st Congressional District. Dreier is a member of the Republican Main Street Partnership and is a key member of the board of directors of the International Republican Institute. Dreier has long supported closer ties between the U.S. and Latin American countries, and regularly meets with executive and legislative leaders across the region. He previously lived in Beverly Hills and Malibu with his chief of staff Brad Smith, with whom he was rumored to have been romantically involved for several years. He currently resides in San Dimas, California.
