Dave Clark Net Worth: Dave Clark is an English musician, songwriter and record producer who has a net worth of $30 million. He was the leader and drummer of the 1960s music group The Dave Clark Five, considered the first British Invasion band to make a big splash in America after the Beatles.
The Dave Clark Five were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008, and today, Dave Clark and Lenny Davidson remain the group’s last surviving members. Born in Tottenham, north London, Dave Clark left school at 15 and was ineligible to be a film stuntman. He acted in more than 40 films, then taught himself how to play drums and formed a skateboard band to raise money so his football team could travel to the Netherlands. The ski band grew into the Dave Clark Five and became increasingly popular in the UK. The band took the Beatles hit ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’ from No. 1 on the UK charts and the band hit the headlines with Dave Clark’s hit ‘Glad All Over’ . In 1964, they entered the top 20 pop 15 times in a row in the US and appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show more times than any other British band. The band disbanded in the 1970s, but by 1986 Clark was a household name again with a sci-fi stage musical called “Time”, playing in London’s West End for two years. Clark went on to become a successful entrepreneur and multi-millionaire, and made millions by owning all the rights to Dave Clark’s five-piece music; he also owns the rights to all episodes of the 1960s musical Ready Steady Go! Clark never married, but was romantically involved with TV presenter Cathy McGowan.
He was a close friend of Freddie Mercury, whom he became friends with in 1975 and took over his bedside care when Mercury passed away in November 1991.
