What is Daniel Och’s net worth?
Daniel Och is an American businessman with a net worth of $5 billion. He has amassed a fortune as CEO of Och-Ziff Capital Management; a global hedge fund and alternative asset manager.
After earning a BA in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, he began his career in Goldman Sachs’ risk arbitrage division in 1982. A few years later, he became head of proprietary trading in the equities department and co-head of U.S. equity trading.
After 11 years with the company, Och set up his own business in 1994. He reportedly founded Och-Ziff Capital Management Group with $100 million in seed funding from the billionaire Ziff brothers. He listed the group on the New York Stock Exchange in 2007 at an initial price of $32.00. While the group’s stock has fallen sharply since its IPO, the company’s total assets under management are now said to be around $35 billion. At its peak in 2015, the company had more than $50 billion in assets under management. In September 2019, the company changed its name to Sculptor Capital Management. Today, it trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SCU.
