Dana White is an American businessman, entrepreneur and former amateur boxer. He is best known as the chairman of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Under his leadership, UFC has grown into a multi-billion dollar global business. Dana Frederick White, Jr. was born on July 28, 1969 in Manchester, Connecticut. His parents are June and Dana Sr. He has a sister named Kelly. White is a graduate of Hermon High School in Maine. He also studied at the University of Massachusetts Boston, but never completed his degree.

White started his amateur boxing career when he was a teenager. He also worked as a doorman at the Boston Seaport Hotel. He quit hotel gigs to focus on boxing. White has spent more than a decade exploring different angles of the boxing world. He does everything from boxing himself to training and managing other boxers. He also opened a gym that offers a variety of exercise programs. White moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to avoid being blackmailed by Irish thugs. Brothers Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta bought the UFC in January 2001 for $2 million. They created Zuffa, LLC as the parent company and named Dana White their new president. White currently owns 9% of Zuffa. He created the reality series “The Ultimate Fighter” to help raise the profile of the UFC. The show aired on Spike TV (2005-11) and later on FX (2012-12). It began airing on Fox Sports in 2013. Fights and replays can also be purchased on the UFC Fight Pass. In 2012, Ronda Rousey became the first woman to win a Zuffa contract to fight in the UFC. He is the recipient of the Armed Forces Foundation Patriot Award. White is also known for his feuds with Bob Arum, Randy Couture, Tito Ortiz, Ken Shamrock and Loretta Hunter.
