Jones fell out of the draft, but eventually became a journeyman, and he began playing for the IBA’s Black Mountains, the USBL’s Jacksonville Barracudas and the CBA’s Idaho Cowboys. He made his NBA debut in 1999 with the New Jersey Nets, Boston Celtics and Golden State Warriors. Jones played for the Dallas Mavericks from 1999 to 2000 and then for the USBL’s Gulf Coast Sundogs. He played for the Vancouver Grizzlies from 2000 to 2001, the Detroit Pistons from 2001 to 2002, the Sacramento Kings from 2002 to 2003, the Milwaukee Bucks from 2003 to 2004, the Milwaukee Bucks from 2003 to 2005 Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers from 2005 to 2008, and Milwaukee Bucks from 2008 to 2009. Jones then played in Italy, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the G League. He signed a one-year, $2.5 million deal with the Heat in 2004 and a four-year, $16.1 million deal with the Cavaliers in 2005. He became a shooting consultant for the Cavaliers in 2014.
