Cory Monteith is a Canadian actor best known for his role on the hit TV series Glee. He was born to parents Ann and Joe Monteith on May 11, 1982 in Calgary, Alberta. In 1989, his parents divorced when he was seven. Monteith and his older brother “Shaun” were raised by their mother in Victoria, British Columbia. He attended a series of schools there before dropping out due to drug and alcohol abuse. He joined a rehabilitation program at the age of 19 with the help of his mother and friends.
