What is the net worth of Meghan Trainor?
Meghan Trainor is a Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter, musician and producer with a net worth of US$14 million. She is best known for her 2014 hit song “All About That Bass”. She continues to enjoy an incredibly successful career.
early life
Meghan Elizabeth Trainor was born on December 22, 1993 in Nantucket, Massachusetts. Her parents Kelli and Gary Trainor are jewelers. She has two brothers, Ryan and Justin. Her father was also an organist, and she first started singing in her home’s Methodist Church when she was six years old. Her family supported her and encouraged her to pursue her interest in music. She began to use the digital software GarageBand to create and record her own songs.
When Trainor was twelve years old, she began to play music with the cover band Island Fusion. Her band members include her father, aunt and brother Justin. When she was in high school, her family moved from Nantucket to North Eastham, Massachusetts. There, she attended the Nauset District High School, where she sang in a jazz band for three years, and also learned guitar and trumpet.
Music career
Between the ages of 15 and 17, Trainor independently released music that she wrote, recorded, produced and performed herself. During this period, she released a total of three different original albums: “Meghan Trainor” (2009), “I’ll Sing with You” (2011) and “Only 17” (2011). She also released the song “Take Care of Our Soldiers” in April 2010 and donated all proceeds from the song to the United Service Organization (USO) and Cape Cod Caring for Our Forces.
After participating in the Berkeley School of Music’s summer performance program in 2009 and 2010, Treynor actually received a full scholarship to enter the school after graduating from high school in 2012. Instead, she chose to sign with Nashville based music publishing group Big Yellow Dog Music. After she introduced herself to him at a music conference and impressed him with her songwriting skills, she was mentioned Big Yellow Dog by former NRBQ member Al Anderson. In Big Yellow Dog, Trainor used these songwriting skills and started her career as a hired composer. One of the main reasons she started her career as a songwriter rather than as a recording artist was because she didn’t believe she could succeed. During this time, she moved from Nantucket to Nashville and wrote songs for artists such as Hunter Hayes, Rascal Flatts and Sabrina Carpenter.
At the end of 2013, Trainor collaborated with producer Kevin Kadish to create the song “All About That Bass”. They offered this song to several record companies, but they all rejected it. Then, Trainor sang the song for LA Reid, the chairman of Epic Records, after which he almost immediately signed her to the record company. “All About That Bass” was released on June 30, 2014, and it became an instant hit. Not only did the accompanying music video quickly become popular, the song was ranked No. 1 on the Billboard Top 100 Singles chart for eight consecutive weeks. After selling 11 million units worldwide, it was certified as a diamond by RIAA. In general, “All About That Bass” ranks first among 58 countries in the world.

Trainor released her first EP “Title” in September 2014, following the success of “All About That Bass”. Then, in October 2014, she released her second single “Lips Are Movin”. It has a retro style similar to “All About That Bass” and ranks 4th in the Billboard Hot 100. Before the release of her first major record label album, all three previous self-released albums by Trainor were deleted from sale. Her album “Title” was released on January 9, 2015 and replaced her previous EP of the same name. Despite mixed reviews, the album ranked first on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States, and received the Triple Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America. In February 2015, Trainor started her first main concert tour “That Bass Tour” with Australian band Sheppard as the opening performance. Nevertheless, for the rest of 2015, Trainor had been troubled by the diagnosis of vocal cord bleeding, and eventually had to undergo surgery in August of that year.
In February 2016, Trainor won the Grammy Best Newcomer Award at the 58th Grammy Awards. In May 2016, the second large-scale studio album “Thank You” was released. This album debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, and received platinum certification. Her other albums are “Treat Myself” (2020) and “A Very Trainor Christmas” (2020).
personal life
In 2014, Trainor met actor Daryl Sabara at a family gathering in Los Angeles. They started dating in July 2016 and got engaged on December 22, 2017. A year later, they got married on December 22, 2018-Trainor’s 25th birthday. The couple announced their first pregnancy on October 7, 2020.
Coach Megan is broken?
In February 2015, Trainor made headlines when she told a British tabloid that she was “penniless” and lived on relief from record companies. Considering that “All About That Bass” sold more than 6 million copies, and her new song “Lips Are Movin” had just reached number one at the time, this is obviously shocking news. The reality is that Trainor has not yet been paid. According to a typical record contract, artists must wait nine months after the song or album is released to receive their profit share. In Trainor’s case, she probably received a very large check in April 2015.
As you will learn later, in one year, she has enough money to buy $7 million worth of real estate in Los Angeles.
real estate
In 2016, Megan and Daryl bought a house in Lake Toluca, California for less than $5 million. In July 2021, they sold the house for $5.5 million. Also in 2016, Megan paid $1.7 million to purchase a house in Valley Village, California.
In December 2020, Megan and Darryl spent $6.6 million to purchase a 10,000 square foot mansion in Encino, California. This house was previously owned by hip-hop producers/artists and has a state-of-the-art recording studio.
