Peters soon began working on West End productions, including “Bubbling Brown Sugar,” “The Witches of Eastwick,” and “Chicago.” He also starred in several Broadway productions, including “Chicago” and “The Iceman.” He made his screen debut in 1979’s The Music Machine. Peters has since appeared in Mona Lisa, Notting Hill, Free World, Poker House, Life on Mars, Hurt, Dreamland, Treme, Red Hook Summer, Stakes, Dead in Heaven, True Detective, The Division 19. From 2002 to 2008, he played Lester Freamon on HBO’s hit series The Wire. Peter Lives in Baltimore, Maryland and London. He has several children, including his son Max and current wife Penny.
