In the ring, also known as the “Bayonne Bleeder,” he won 35 of his 51 career matches. In addition, he appeared in the book Operation Bullpen, telling the story of a $100 million fake signature scam. The final chapters of the book reveal John Olson-Chuck Wepner’s forgery scheme. Olsen forged Muhammad Ali’s autograph on various Ali merchandise, and he and Olsen then sold the forgeries together. However, they were both eventually arrested by the FBI in 2002. Each of them received probation for the crime. Chuck Wepner now works with his wife Linda at Majestic Wines and Spirits and is an expert in consuming alcohol, wine and spirits.
