Chuck Norris is an American actor and martial artist best known as Walker on the hit TV series “Texas Rangers.” He was born Carlos Ray Norris on March 10, 1940, in Ryan City, Oklahoma. He moved to California at a young age and attended North Torrance High School. From 1958 to 1962, he served as an air police officer in the Union Air Force.

Norris opened several karate schools in the 1960s, teaching celebrities such as Steve McQueen, Bob Barker and Priscilla Presley. He is a fierce competitor and has competed in various martial arts competitions. He won his first professional middleweight karate title in 1968, the title he defended for six consecutive years. In 1990, he was awarded a Master 8 Taekwondo Black Belt. In the same year, he developed his own martial arts fighting style, hun Kuk Do. In 2000, he was awarded the “Lifetime Gold Award” by the World Karate Federation.
Norris made his debut in the 1969 film The Wreck. He co-starred in the 1972 film “The Way of the Dragon” starring Bruce Lee. He went on to play his first starring role as “John Dawes” in the 1977 action film The Vandal! breaker! . He later starred in the commercially successful Missing in Action film. His other notable films include The Silent Code (1985), Delta Force (1986) and Fire Walker (1986). He starred for eight seasons (1993-2001) on the CBS television series Texas Rangers Walker.
