Born Christopher Meledandri on May 15, 1959 in New York City, he received his higher education at Dartmouth College.
Before starting his tenure at Fox, he was president of Dawn Steel Pictures at Walt Disney Pictures, where he executive produced the 1993 film “Cool Run.” He then teamed up with 20th Century Fox on the 1998 film “From Now on: A Cinderella Story,” helping Fox become one of the top six U.S. studios today. During his tenure at Fox, he was also the supervisor and/or executive producer of a number of other films: “Who Dr. Seuss Horton Hears” and “Ice Age 1 & 2” among others. Two animated shorts, “Crazy” (2002) and “No Time to Be Crazy” (2006), nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Short, were also produced by Mele Dandri.
