Chrissy Metz is an American actress, singer and writer. She played “Kate Pearson” in the NBC series “We Are Us” (2016-). Her works include “American Horror Story: Freak Show”, “Entourage”, “My Name Is Earl”, “The Onion Movie” (2008) and Sierra Burgess is a Loser (2018) . Metz was born on September 29, 1980 in Homestead, Florida, under the original name of Christine Michel Metz. She was raised by military parents Dennis and Mark. She has two half siblings, including sister Abigail. The family lived in Japan for several years before settling in Gainesville, Florida. Metz’s parents separated when she was about 8 years old. Her mother later remarried and gave birth to two half-sisters. Metz went to high school and then community college. Before acting, she briefly worked as a kindergarten teacher.
