Soules was born Christopher Douglas Soules on November 6, 1981, in Arlington, Iowa. His parents are Gary and Linda. He has three sisters, Lisa, Lori and Jaci. Soules attended Starmont High School, where he competed in football, track and field and wrestling. During this time, he earned a state FFA degree in soybean proficiency.
