early life
Kyle was born on April 8, 1974 in Odessa, Texas. He is the eldest of two sons of parents Deborah Lynn and Wayne Kenneth Kyle. Kyle grew up hunting and raising cattle with his family. He attended high school in Midlothian, Texas, and after graduation became a professional Mustang rodeo rider and rancher. He then spent two years at Tarleton State University, where he studied ranch and ranch management.
Profession
In 1999, a recruiter persuaded Kyle to try out the SEALs instead of the U.S. Marines, and Kyle attended SEAL training. He graduated from the SEAL class in March 2001 and was assigned to SEAL 3 as a sniper.
Throughout his military career, Kyle became one of America’s deadliest snipers. He served in Iraq four times and participated in many major battles. The Navy awarded him one Silver Star and four Bronze Stars for Valor. Kyle honorably retired from the Navy in 2009. He started his career at Craft International, a company that provided tactical training to the U.S. military and law enforcement.
In 2012, Kyle published his autobiography, American Sniper, which became a bestseller. The book remained on the New York Times bestseller list for 37 weeks and brought Kyle into the public eye. He has worked with the FITCO Cares Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides training and fitness programs for disabled veterans and those with PTSD, and has helped the organization gain greater public awareness.

Kyle also described several unconfirmed events in his civilian life, including a trip to New Orleans with friends after Hurricane Katrina. Kyle claims he shot 30 people who attempted to rob or cause trouble after the hurricane. In another story, he claimed he shot and killed two men who tried to rob him at a gas station outside Dallas. None of these stories have been proven, and Kyle has never been charged with any crime.
death and legacy
In February 2013, Kyle and his friend Chad Littlefield were shot dead at a shooting range in Earth County, Texas. The shooter was Eddie Ray Routh, a 25-year-old Marine Corps veteran from Lancaster, Texas. Kyle, Littlefield and Rouse all reportedly went to the shooting range together as Kyle and Littlefield were trying to help Rouse with his PTSD. Rouse had been in and out of a mental hospital for two years before the shooting and was officially diagnosed with schizophrenia.
After killing the two men, Rouse went to his sister’s house and confessed. Before Rouse was arrested, she called police and a brief chase on the highway followed. He was charged and convicted of two murders and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. When asked why he committed the crimes, Rouse explained that neither Littlefield nor Kyle would speak to him when they drove to the shooting range, which prompted his decision to shoot them.
Kyle’s memorial service was held at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas on February 11, 2013, and he was buried in Austin’s Texas Cemetery. As the funeral procession traveled from Midlothian to Austin, many lined up on Interstate 35 to pay their respects to Kyle.
Kyle leaves behind his wife, Taya Kyle, and their two children. Part of Kyle’s life was depicted in Clint Eastwood’s 2014 film American Sniper, based on Kyle’s autobiography. He is played by Bradley Cooper, who was nominated for an Oscar for his work in the film. Kyle is remembered for having a stretch of highway named after him in Texas. In 2015, Texas Governor Greg Abbott also declared the second anniversary of Kyle’s murder “Chris Kyle Day.”
Jesse Ventura LausuTon
In his autobiography, “American Sniper,” Kyle claims to have punched Jesse Ventura in a California bar in 2006. Ventura’s name is not mentioned in the book. He was called “sloppy face”. But he still sued Kyle for defamation of personality. Even after Kyle’s death, Jesse Ventura continued the lawsuit. Ventura won the lawsuit posthumously and was awarded $1.8 million in damages. Kyle’s widow appealed and in June 2016 the Court of Appeal dismissed the verdict. In December 2017, the case was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
