Chris Kattan is an American film and television actor. He is also a comedian, known for his work on Saturday Night Live. His performances include Roxbury Nights, Undercover Brothers and the Middleman. Catan was born in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles on October 19, 1970, his original name is Christopher Lee Catan. His mother Hajnalka Biro is a model and his father Kip King is an actor. Kattan grew up in Baldy Hills and moved to Bainbridge Island, Washington when he was 15 years old. He graduated from Bainbridge High School. He later studied acting and director at California State University Northridge.
Profession
After graduating from high school, Catan moved to Los Angeles, California. There, he joined the improvisation/sketch comedy group “The Groundlings” and performed with them. In 1996, Catan moved to New York City to join the Saturday Night Live. He rose to fame with roles such as Mr. Peepers, Azrael Abyss and Roxbury Guy. He also imitated celebrities such as Ben Affleck, Ricky Martin and David Spade.
Catan played against Will Farrell in the comedy “Night at Roxbury” (1998). He later played an important role in “The House of Haunted Mansion” (1999), “Coqui Romano” (2001) and “Monkey Bone” (2001). Catan’s next important role is “Mr. Feather in the action comedy “Undercover Brothers” (2002). The movie also starred Eddie Grifin and Dave Chappelle. He is the voice of “Kakie” in the 2015 3D computer animation film “Hotel Transylvania 2”. Other well-known voice acting roles include “Filo” in the movie Delgo (2008) and “Bunnicula” in the Bunnicula series (2016).
Kattan’s television credits include “How I Met Your Mother”, “Ink Marks” and “Grace in Fire”. He played an unforgettable role “Bob” in the ABC sitcom The Middle. He is a participant of Celebrity Poker Showdown (2005) and a late night guest of Jimmy Fallon (2011). Kattan is a contestant for the 24th season of ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars”. His partner is professional dancer Witney Carson (Witney Carson).
