Herron, a 6-foot-2 point guard who played for Duffy High School, was the Boston Globe and Gatorade Player of the Year during his senior season and was a McDonald’s All-Star – Team USA.
He played college basketball at Boston College from 1994 to 1995 and Fresno State University from 1996 to 1999. He was on the All-West Games and All-Championship First Team in the 1988 Greater Alaska Shootout. He also led the WAC in assists averaging 7.2 points in the 1998-1999 season. Herron was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the 33rd overall pick in the 1999 NBA draft and played for the Denver Nuggets from 1999 to 2001. He played for the Boston Celtics from 2000 to 2001. He then played professionally in Italy, Turkey, Poland, Iran and China. He scored 63 points in a CBA game for the Peking Ducks.
