Chris Hardwick is an American comedian, actor, television host, producer and CEO of Nerdist Industries. His TV credits include Talking Dead, @midnight and Singled Out. Hardwick was born Christopher Ryan Hardwick on November 23, 1971, in Louisville, Kentucky. His late father, Billy Hardwick, was a ten-pin bowler, and his mother, Sharon Hills, was a real estate agent. He has a brother named Eddie. Hardwick attended Loyola High School in California. He graduated from UCLA in 1993 with a degree in philosophy. While studying at UCLA, he moved in with future actor Wil Wheaton.

Hardwick began as a radio DJ in Los Angeles in the 1990s. His early TV credits include Thirties, Boy Meets the World and Marrying With Children. From 1995 to 1998, he hosted 130 episodes of the MTV game show “Singled Out.” He played “Sean Barker” on the UPN sitcom Guys Like Us (1998-99). Hardwicke is a member of the comedy/music duo Hard ‘n Phirm. Another member is Mike Phirman. Their debut album, Horses and Grasses, was released in 2005. It featured the singles “Pi” and “Rodeohead”.
Hardwicke had small roles in the Rob Zombie horror films 1000 Corpses (2003) and Halloween II (2009). His film credits also include Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003) with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mother of Invention (2009) with Andrew Bowser. He voiced the characters “Otis” in the animated series “Back to the Barn” (2007-10) and “Craig” in Sanjay and Craig (2013-16). His self-help book, The Way of the Nerd, was published in 2011.
Hardwicke is a reporter for G4’s Attack of the Show! From 2008 to 2013. He also hosts G4’s weekly infotainment series “Cyber Soup”. Hardwicke began hosting AMC’s backstage “Talking Dead” in 2011. The show discusses episodes of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. Hardwick currently hosts @midnight (2013) on Comedy Central and Talking Saul (2016) on AMC. In 2014, he won a Primetime Emmy for the show @midnight.
