Chris Cornell is a Grammy Award-winning American singer and songwriter. He is the lead singer, rhythm guitarist and co-founder of the rock band Soundgarden. He also served as the lead singer and songwriter of the rock super group Audioslave. His solo albums include Euphoria Morning (1999), Scream (2009) and Higher Truth (2015). Cornell was born on July 20, 1964 in Seattle, Washington, whose real name is Christopher John Boyle. His father Ed Boyle is a pharmacist and his mother Karen is an accountant. He has five siblings, Peter, Patrick, Katie, Susie and Maggie. Cornell attended Christ King’s School and Shawwood High School. Before getting into music, he worked for a seafood wholesaler in Seattle for several years.

Cornell later teamed up with bassist Hiroshi Yamamoto and guitarist Kintaier to form the rock band “Sound Garden.” The fourth member Matt Cameron eventually joined the drummer. The band was active from 1984 to 1997. They reunited in 2010. Soundgarden’s first studio album Ultramega OK was released by SST Records in 1988. They subsequently launched Louder Than Love in 1989. Their fourth album, Superunknown, was released by A&M Records in 1994. It has sold more than 5 million units and has received 5 times platinum certification from RIAA. This album won 2 Grammy Awards and included singles such as “Black Hole Sun” and “Spoonman”. Other albums include Badmotorfinger (1991) and Down on the Upside (1996).
Cornell’s first solo album “Euphoria Morning” was released by Interscope Records in 1999. It is led by the single “Can’t Change Me”. Cornell and Rage Against the Machine members Tom Morello, Tim Commerford and Brad Wilk formed the rock super group “Audioslave” in 2001. They released three successful albums, Audioslave (2002), Out of Exile (2005) and Revelations (2006). The band disbanded shortly after releasing the third album. Cornell’s second solo album “Carry On” was released in 2007. Which included the Grammy-nominated single “You Know My Name”.
