Chambers was traded to the San Diego Chargers in exchange for the draft rights. After a disappointing campaign, the Chargers released him midway through the 2009 season. After the 2009 season, he signed a three-year, $15 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. Chambers was released in 2011 and has not played since.
