Chester Bennington is an American rock singer, songwriter, and lead singer of the rock band Linkin Park. He is also associated with the bands “Dead by Sunrise” and “Stone Temple Pilots”. His recordings with Linkin Park include Hybrid Theory (2000), Meteora (2003) and Minutes to Midnight (2007). Bennington was born on March 20, 1976 in Phoenix, Arizona. His mother Susan is a nurse and his father Lee is a police officer. He has a half-brother Brian and two half-sisters. Bennington’s parents separated when he was about 11 years old. He lived with his father for a few years before moving in with his mother at the age of 17. He attended Centennial High School, Greenway High School and Washington High School. Bennington formed his own rock band “Dead by Sunrise” in 2005. Their debut studio album Out of Ashes was released in October 2009. It was led by the singles “Crawl Back In”, “Let Down” and “Fire”. The organization disbanded in 2011. Bennington also collaborated with rock band Stone Temple Pilots. He was recruited in 2013 to replace singer Scott Weiland. He appeared on his debut EP High Rise in October 2013. Tracks on the EP include “Out of Time” and “Black Heart”. Bennington left the organization in 2015.

Chester Bennington passed away on July 20, 2017 at the age of 41. According to reports, the cause of his death was suicide by hanging. He was found dead at his home in Palos Verdes, California. His close friend Chris Cornell also hanged himself in early 2017. Bennington has suffered multiple injuries throughout his career. He suffered a broken wrist in 2007, a shoulder injury in 2011 and an ankle injury in 2015.
