Charlize Theron is a South African-born actress, filmmaker and animal rights activist. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen in 2007. Her film credits include Monster (2003), North Country (2005), Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and Atomic Blonde (2017). Theron was born on August 7, 1975 in Benoni, South Africa. She is an only child. Her parents are Gerda Maritz and Charles Theron. They own a road construction company called Charles and Gerda.
