Dr. Charles Stanley Net Worth: Charles Fraser Stanley is a pastor and religious fundamentalist who has a net worth of $1.5 million. He is the senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta megachurch and the founder and president of In Touch Ministries, a Christian evangelical nonprofit ministry.
Dr. Stanley served two one-year Presidents of the Southern Baptist Convention from 1984 to 1986, and his theology is evangelical, fundamentalist, and dispensational. He was born in Dry Fork, Virginia on September 25, 1932, nine months before his father’s death. At 12, he became a born again Christian, and at 14 he began his lifelong Christian ministry. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Richmond, his master’s degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and his Ph.D. in Theology from Lutheran Theological Seminary. He joined First Baptist Church in Atlanta in 1969 and became senior pastor in 1971. In 1972, he launched a thirty-minute religious show called “Church Time,” which began airing on the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) in 1978. In 1982, he founded In Touch Ministries, whose radio broadcasts became syndicated and can be heard in nearly every major media market in the United States. Today, The Connection with Dr. Charles Stanley is available in 50 languages and is currently broadcast on approximately 500 radio stations, 300 TV stations and several satellite networks worldwide. In Touch Ministries also produces a free monthly magazine called In Touch. In 2000, Charles Stanley’s wife Anna filed for divorce after a few years of separation; they had been together for more than 40 years before the separation. This caused a minor controversy at the Southern Baptist Convention, but FBA members overwhelmingly voted to keep him as pastor. According to church bylaws, Stanley will remain eligible to serve as the pastor of First Baptist Church in Atlanta as long as he is no longer married.
