Born Charles Franklin Davis on November 14, 1964 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, he was athletically gifted and played football, basketball and baseball in high school.
After continuing his studies at Tennessee, he chose college football and was in the starting lineup for the 1983 season, just after his first season. Unfortunately, Davis started the 1984 season with a fractured fibula, and the injury lasted so long that he lost the draft in 1987. Although he signed with the Dallas Cowboys in free agency, his career was just as long. So he immediately turned to broadcasting after earning a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s degree in history from Tennessee. As a broadcaster, Charles Davis has had the opportunity to work with TBS, CBS, ESPN, Golf Channel and Sun Sports, and as an analyst for the NFL Network.
