Charlamagne tha God is an American radio host and television personality. He is best known for co-hosting the radio show “The Breakfast Club” with DJ Envy and Angela Yee. His TV credits include Uncommon Sense, Guy Code, Girl Code and Wild ‘N Out. Charlamagne was born on June 29, 1980 in Lenard McKelvey. He grew up in the small town of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. His father was Larry Thomas McKelvey. He has an older sister, Alesha Renee, who is an actress.

Charlamagne tha God started his broadcasting career with an internship at a local radio station in South Carolina. He met media personality Wendy Williams in 2005. She took him to New Jersey, and the pair produced “The Wendy Williams Experience” on 107.5 WBLS. A short-lived TV version of the show aired on VH1 from October 2006 to December 2006. The two parted ways in 2008. Charlamagne is probably best known for co-hosting The Breakfast Club with DJs Envy and Angela Yee. The broadcast premiered in December 2010 on Power 105.1 (WWPR-FM). It launched Syndicate in 2013. Starting March 2010, The Breakfast Club has been broadcast simultaneously on REVOLT.
Charlamagne is a cast member of the MTV2 reality series Guy Code. The show talks about the special code of conduct that exists between men. Five seasons have been completed from 2011 to 2015. In 2013, Charlamagne hosted “The Week in Jams” with DJ Envy and Sofi Green. He co-hosted MTV’s New Year’s Eve in Times Square in 2013 and 2014. He served as a reporter for the preview of the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. Charlamagne made a cameo appearance in Ride Together (2014) starring Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. He played “Black Jesus” in the comedy film “Growing Up” (2017). His TV credits include Catfish: The TV Show, Empire and Wild ‘N Out with Nick Cannon. He currently hosts the MTV2 show “Uncommon Sense” and narrates the BET show “Inside the Label”.
Charlamagne’s debut album, South Crack, was released in August 2008 by Lightyear Entertainment. His first book “Black Privilege” was published by Simon & Schuster in 2017. The book became the New York Times’ best-selling hardcover nonfiction. He also owns his own production company, CThaGod World LLC.
