Chadwick Aaron Boseman is an American actor, screenwriter and director. He is known for films such as 42, Black Panther and the TV show Lincoln Heights. Boseman was born on November 29, 1976 in Anderson, South Carolina. His father, Leroy, owns an upholstery business, and his mother, Carolyn, is a nurse. Boseman attended TL Hanna High School, followed by Howard University. In 2000, he graduated from the Department of Directing with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He also studied at the British and American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.

Before acting, Boseman was a theater instructor at the Schomburg Center for the Study of Black Culture in New York. Early in his career, he appeared in many stage plays. His stage credits include “Romeo and Juliet,” “Breath,” and “Zuman.” In 2002, he won the AUDELCO Award for his role in Ron Milner’s Urban Transformation: Loose Flowers. Boseman wrote some scripts for the Hip Hop Theatre Festival. These include dark blue and hieroglyphic doodles.
Boseman made his television debut on the NBC series “Third Watch” in 2003. He then showed up in all my kids, law and order, emergency room, and cold cases. Boseman played Nathaniel “Nate” Ray in nine episodes of Lincoln Heights. He co-starred in “The Unknown” (2010) with Jason Wiles and Daisy Betts. Other TV shows include The Glades, Castle and Justified.
In 2008, Boseman made his debut as “Jr. Floyd” in the sports movie “Express.” He played baseball superstar “Jackie Robinson” in the 2013 biographical sports movie 42. Boseman played “James Brown” in the 2014 biographical drama “Come on.” He played the Marvel superhero “Black Panther” in Captain America: Civil War (2016). The film also stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson. The superhero character reprises itself in Black Panther (2018). Other notable films include Kevin Costner’s Draft Day (2014), Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s God of Egypt (2016), Kate Harder Kate Hudson’s Marshall (2017), 21 Bridges (2019) and Da 5 Bloods (2020).
