What is Chad Ochocinco Johnson’s net worth and professional income?
Chad Ochocinco Johnson is a former professional American football wide receiver and reality TV star with a net worth of $15 million. He played for the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons, playing for the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins.
In his NFL career, Chad earned just under $47 million from the NFL salary alone. In a 2013 court battle over child support payments, Chad listed his total assets as valued at US$5 million. At that time, he claimed to lose about 45,000 US dollars a month to pay for the support of eight children, mortgages, food and car expenses. When submitting the application, he claimed to earn US$3,000 per month, which is approximately US$36,000 per year.
When appearing on the “Full Delivery” podcast in November 2021, Chad claimed that his wealth far exceeded $5 million. He even stated that he had $15 million in his bank account.
Early life and college career
Chad Javon Johnson was born on January 9, 1978 in Miami, Florida. He graduated from Miami Beach High School in 1997 and went on to study at Langston University, where he did not play football. Later, he transferred to Santa Monica College in California, where he played football. Finally, in 2000, he was recruited by Oregon State University football coach Dennis Erickson and transferred to Oregon State University.
Professional football career
Johnson started his professional football career in the National Football League in 2001, when the Cincinnati Bengals selected him with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the draft. He performed well in the early season and set a record in the history of the Bangladesh team in 2005, with a passing distance of 1,432 yards. However, his success on the court is often overshadowed by what many people think of as the “Queen” behavior. His bragging tendencies and his continued disregard for authority caused trouble for everyone. Although he was selected to the Pro Bowl team six times, the Bengals finally decided to let Johnson leave in 2010 for the health of the team.
In July 2011, he was hired by the New England Patriots in a trade with Cincinnati, but was fired after playing for the team for less than a year. In June 2012, he signed with the Miami Dolphins, but after being arrested for domestic abuse of his reality TV star wife Evelyn Lozada (Evelyn Lozada), the contract was terminated in August of the same year.
In 2014, Johnson signed a two-year contract with Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL), but he only participated in five regular season games in the 2014 season. After not participating in the mandatory spring training camp, he was suspended for the entire 2015 CFL season and was not awarded a new contract. The only time he has participated in a professional football game since then was in 2017, when Monterrey Fundidores hired him to participate in a game in the Mexican Professional Football League. He caught three passes in the game on April 2 and helped Monterrey defeat Saltino Dinos.

Name change
To commemorate Hispanic Tradition Month, Johnson announced that he would prefer to be called “Ocho Cinco”, which means “Eight Five” in Spanish. This name is a reference to his jersey number 85. He legally changed his name to Chad Javon Ochocinco on August 29, 2008, and was allowed to be printed on the back of the jersey by the Cincinnati Bengals. However, in order to fulfill his contractual obligations with Reebok, he retained the name “Johnson” on his jersey for the 2008 football season. Therefore, he debuted his new “Ochocinco” jersey in the 2009 season. In 2012, he legally changed his surname back to Johnson.
Other projects and pursuits
Outside of the NFL, Johnson worked on various projects. In 2010, he released the iPhone game “Crazy Chad” designed in cooperation with RockLive. In the same year, he participated in the tenth season of the popular competition show “Dancing with the Stars”, where he partnered with two-time champion Cheryl Burke.
