Carrie Ann Inaba is an American dancer, choreographer, singer, actress and game show host. She rose to fame as a judge on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Inaba was born to parents Patty and Rodney on January 5, 1968, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is the youngest of two children. Inaba attended Punahou School and then the University of California. She graduated with a degree in World Arts and Cultures.

Growing up, Inaba took dance, piano and violin lessons. She won the Hawaii competition “Finding Talent” at the age of 16. Inaba spent two years in Tokyo from 1986 to 1988. She released three singles “Party Girl”, “Be Your Girl” and “In the Forest of Dreams” with Pony Canyon Records in Tokyo. After returning to the United States, Inaba signed on as a backup dancer for the comedy sketch series “The Living Color” (1990-92). She later played “Pole Girl” on Madonna’s 1993 tour of The Girlie Show.
Inaba’s film credits include Showgirls (1995) with Elizabeth Berkley, Boys and Girls (2000) with Claire Forlani and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) with Mike Myers. From January 2000, she appeared in four episodes of the sitcom Nikki. Inaba was a judge on the ABC competition series “Dancing with the Stars” in 2005. She hosted the game show 1 vs. 100 (2010-11) and appeared on the 2009 episode of Hannah Montana alongside Miley Cyrus. As a choreographer, Inaba has contributed to shows such as American Idol, American Youth, and Partridge House.
