Carmelo Anthony is an American professional basketball player currently signed with the Portland Trail Blazers. He’s 6-foot-8 and plays at small forward. His career spanned the likes of the Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks. Anthony was born on May 29, 1984, in Brooklyn, New York, to parents Mary Anthony and Carmelo Iliad. His father died of liver failure when he was 2 years old. He has siblings Robert and Michelle, and half-sister Daphne. Anthony grew up in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Towson Catholic High School in Maryland and then Oak Hill College in Virginia. He continued his basketball career and education at Syracuse University.

Anthony was selected by the Denver Nuggets with the third overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. His rookie debut came on October 29 against the San Antonio Spurs. Melo was eventually drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers. He signed a one-year contract on November 19, 2019.
