Cam Newton is an American NFL player currently under contract with the Carolina Panthers. At 6-foot-5, he was the team’s starting quarterback. He was born on May 11, 2015 in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended Westlake High School, where he put up an impressive record for the Westlake Lions. He attended the University of Florida and played for the Florida Gators from 2007-2008. He transferred to Blinn College in 2009 and was recruited by Auburn University in 2010. Newton played his first game for the Auburn Tigers on September 4, 2010. He broke multiple college records and led his team to the BCS No. 1 ranking for the first time. He was named the 2010 SEC Offensive Player of the Year and received the coveted Heisman Trophy.

Newton was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year, $22 million contract in July 2011 and played his first game with the Arizona Cardinals in September.
